Mrs B
Mrs Bartlett has dance and teacher qualifications from various faculties of the ISTD,
but did you know she also has her Associate and Advanced in ISTD National Dance.
Advanced Imperial Ballet and her Elementary in ISTD Greek Dance!
Mrs B was so clumsy at school that her Mother was told she must do something about the amount of time was being spent in First Aid! Her Mother had been a Ballroom Champion in her youth, finding no Ballroom classes for children locally she made the decision to send Mrs B to ballet classes aged 9years… Aged 16 years Mrs B went into Vocational Training at London College of Dance and from there as a very shy 19 year old she made the decision not to dance professionally (a bit of a regret now!) but to go straight into Teaching, thankfully landing on her feet as an Assistant Teacher to the amazing Monica Furneaux in Exeter.
Established in 1999 when Monica retired Mrs B opened her own school teaching for Mid Devon Council in Cullompton and then opening her own studio in 2016.

The Marisa Wood School of Dance is situated in Langlands Business Park in a converted Warehouse. Classes run six days a week for Children and Adults. Classes are held in Cecchetti Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre Dance, Tap Dance and Swans. Examinations are held twice a year, a Choreographic Competition is held every other year as is the Schools Performance.
The School runs an annual Summer School as well as various Dance Workshops throughout the year.  Pupils are encouraged to take part in a wide range of Competitions and Dance Activities across the Country.

Currently, we are delighted to have a pupil who is dancing with Birmingham Royal Ballet in Swan Lake Dreams, some pupils who are Ballet Cymru Associates, the Winner of the 2019 Wales and West Senior Cecchetti Classical Ballet Competition, a pupil attending London College of Performing Arts, a pupil training with Peter Schaufuss at Edinburgh Festival Ballet School, several pupils auditioning for the English Youth Ballet and Ballet Boost as well as previous pupils who have gone on to have Professional Dance Careers.

Fiona is a consistent and reliable teacher who has nurtured our daughter over the last 11 years. She has fostered a love of dance and provided challenge within a supportive and safe environment. We have loved watching our daughter's confidence grow and especially enjoy the termly watching sessions as well as the annual choreography/repertoire show. The school is built on a basis of trust and respect and is somewhere that we have always felt welcome; the adult dance classes are also highly enjoyable!
Our daughter is now studying at a vocational dance school but she returns for classes whenever she can. We wholeheartedly reommend Fiona's dance classes for all ages.
